About Stephanie

A Lifelong LaSalle County Resident

Stephanie Jo Thompson has called LaSalle County home her entire life. Raised in a close-knit community, she attended Somonauk Baptist School from kindergarten through 12th grade. She was awarded the prestigious Lucille Gustafson Scholarship to Waubonsee Community College, a recognition given to students who demonstrate both academic excellence and a commitment to community service. While Stephanie’s journey led her to choose marriage and family life after one year in college, she has never wavered in her dedication to growth, both personally and professionally.

Stephanie is the proud mother of three children—Zach, Ben, and Sophie—and the adoring “LaLa” to her granddaughter, Amelia Marie. Family has always been at the center of her life, and it’s this commitment to her family that has fueled her dedication to serve the families of LaSalle County.

Stephanie’s professional career has centered around finance, working in various roles that prepared her for the responsibilities she holds today. After transitioning to a career as a logistics auditor, she gained even more experience in financial oversight. As a member of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and the Illinois Association of County Auditors (IACA), where she serves as Secretary, Stephanie is always learning and implementing best practices to ensure financial accountability in LaSalle County.
